Lake Shadows Meadow

Progress & Design

Lake Shadows Meadow is currently in the Forming Phase, where vision meets groundwork. Over the past year, we’ve focused on assembling the core team, securing key approvals, and completing foundational planning to move this community forward in Palmer Lake, Colorado.

Where We Are Today

Team & Vision

  • Assembled a core project team including an architect, engineer, and real estate advisor

  • Completed initial architectural design work, including detailed site plans, proposed floor plans, and 3D modeling

Land Use & Approvals

  • Received a Conditional Use Permit for multi-family housing on commercially zoned property from the Town of Palmer Lake (currently in process of renewal)

  • Signed an agreement to purchase a small parcel from the Town, creating continuity across the development site

  • Submitted an application for Vacation of Rights-of-Way to establish contiguous property ownership

  • Granted inclusion into the Palmer Lake Sanitation District

Site & Engineering Progress

  • Completed property surveys for boundaries, spot elevations, and large tree preservation

  • Conducted preliminary soils testing

  • Advanced preliminary engineering for access road improvements and sanitary sewer connections

Intentional Site Design

Lake Shadows Meadow is designed to honor the land while fostering meaningful connection. The layout balances ecological stewardship, safety, privacy, and shared community space.

Land Use & Layout

Preserving the Landscape
The site plan prioritizes mature ponderosa pine preservation and works with the natural meadow and topography.

Ecological Considerations

  • Wildlife habitat and migration to nearby water

  • Active and passive solar orientation

  • Water-wise landscaping

  • Fire-wise mitigation planning

  • Minimizing site disturbance

Access & Circulation

  • Primary entrance from Spruce Avenue

  • A private drive arcs around the property, providing access to each home and accommodating emergency vehicles

  • Common areas are protected from through-traffic and not disrupted by the drive

Community-Centered Design

Homes face shared green spaces to encourage connection while maintaining privacy. A mix of single-family homes and duplexes offers diversity in size and attainability.

Shared Spaces

A common house and/or pavilion will anchor the community. Additional shared amenities may include garden beds, a pergola, playground, chicken coop, fire pit and patio, shared storage, and guest parking.

Proposed Floor Plans

Floor plans minimize overall footprint, maximize views and give space between structures.
